9/5/1998 :: Here's the first photo I saw of the car - definitely love at first site! Steve had this with him at the 98 Gathering and after agreeing to purchase the car, he gave me the picture...
I carried it around with me for 3 weeks until we were able to get to Nova Scotia to pick up the car. It looks pretty good here - at this point the car had been sitting on a dealer lot for sale.

9/25/1998 :: This is the first photo I took of the car, sitting in Steve's driveway. Looks a little rough - here's a hiney only a mom could love, eh? It has potential - it has an engine and transmission - Joe can do body work - it can be fixed. The bumpers and top and many small parts had been removed already and were in boxes in the garage.

9/1/2001 :: After finishing a starter clutch overhaul we decide to learn if we have been deluding ourselves the last couple years... but no - it lives! Here's Chatham running - at the 2001 Gathering with alot of help from our friends.
It was very encouraging to hear the sound of the engine finally. Our fuel tank was FULL of holes and had to be bypassed to get fuel to the engine. With many helping hands we persevered and were well rewarded.

9/1/2002 :: Here's Joe and I cleaning carb parts at the 2002 Gathering... Between Brian, Steve and Ron we had alot of supervision... I had a great time at this one - it's the first year I was actually allowed to use tools! I got real S600 grease on my "Powered by Honda" t-shirt.
Not many people at the Gathering this year so we got lots of attention - which suits me just fine - we need all the help we can get! So what's next? Transmission overhaul anyone?

9/2/2002 :: This is after we put the carb asy back on - not too tightly though since it'll be off soon for a complete engine disassembly. The other side of the engine looked sooooo bad after this, we just had to clean it up a bit too (see below).
Without all the dirt and grime it's much easier to tell that my air cleaner cover is broken and missing a piece of the little "hat" on top... anyone have a nicer one at a reasonable price? Joe says he can fabricate me one but you'll probably still be able to see the repair.

9/5/2002 :: Not perfect (yet) but it's alot cleaner than it was. We spent 2 days scrubbing with various brushes to get off a couple layers. I uncovered the stamping of the chassis number on the frame - it actually matches the tag on the firewall! A very exciting moment.
Hopefully this will make it easier to pull things apart. We need to remove the engine and other items so we can separate the body and tub and get to the extensive body work required... like a floor pan! All I want for Christmas is to sit in my car...
